Rocc Solid Construction
Beware of Rocc Solid Construction!
When dealing with home repairs, especially after a storm, it's crucial to choose a trustworthy contractor. Unfortunately, some companies might not be as reliable as they seem. This is a cautionary tale about Rocc Solid Construction in Davenport, IA, led by owner Rocco Scalmato.
Misleading Information
When a homeowner was approached by a salesman from Rocc Solid Construction, it was specifically asked whether they were based locally in the Quad Cities. The salesman assured they were, but this turned out to be misleading. The company only rented space in Davenport, IA, creating the illusion of a local presence. This is a common tactic among "storm chasers"—contractors who follow storms to exploit homeowners in affected areas.
Questionable Business Practices
Further investigation by Adviser1 revealed troubling signs about Rocc Solid Construction. An eviction notice was found on the door of their supposed office, indicating an outstanding balance owed. This raises questions about the company's financial stability and reliability.
Moreover, most of the other locations listed by the company are either virtual offices or empty buildings, further indicating a lack of genuine local presence.

Adviser1 does not reccommend using ROCC Solid Construction for your construction needs, if a company is willing to lie to the public about being a local roofing company and clearly doesn't pay their bills, how can you trust them to be your contractor for your project?
This company is a storm chaser. We had strictly asked the salesman when he came to our house if they were from the Quad Cities and he said yes. No they weren't they only rented space for an office, which we found out after the fact. Plus they didn't even pay there rent! They did not flash up against the chimney correctly so we had water coming in the house. We got water damaged on the vaulted ceiling which we had to have replace and paint. We could never get a hold of anyone when calling them. They also add on fees and materials that they never replaced on a another bill that they sent our insurance company. Our insurance company had asked them for a copy of the original estimate and they never sent them one. So now the balance that they say we owe because of them falsely adding and charging us they have threatened to put a lien on our house in 10 days. Beware of this company! They take advantage of homeowners and seniors. And we also had to find someone to pick up the extra materials they left in our driveway.
