My parents were scammed by a door to door contractor. The contractor took $17,000 with the promise to build an addition to my parents home. He laid three cinder blocks, and then disappeared. When my mother informed me of what happen, I immediately contacted the States Attorney. He said, "no problem will bury this guy underneath the jail" as I was leaving he asked, "by the way did he do any work?" I responded "yes he laid three cinder blocks" The States Attorney responded, "I'm sorry the law states that any contractor who has started the job can not be prosecuted" "your parents will have to pursue him in small claims court". Between the media and myself I found a contractor to build my parents addition for free.
